Have You Washed Your Vacuum’s Filter Lately?

We can’t stress enough how important it is to keep a clean filter in your vacuum. It’s simple math, a clean filter = a happy vacuum and a healthy home. If your vacuum came with a filter, you need to take care of it and it will take care of you. Just like the air filter in your car keeps your engine running smooth, a clean filter on your vacuum makes it easier for your vacuum to do its job.

Crucial Vacuum makes it easy to find the filter you need at the lowest prices on the Internet, plus we offer free shipping.

But it gets even better! We are just full of ways to save you money at Crucial Vacuum. Bet you didn’t know that many of our filters are washable and reusable! That’s right, you can purchase one of our replacement filters and use it over and over again. That is something that can’t be said most vacuum’s original filters. That’s just another reason why we are so awesome!
Ideally, your filter should be washed every 3-4 uses. Loss of suction is a good sign that it is time to wash your filter. But remember, you can only wash washable filters!

So how do you wash your filter? We are glad you asked! It’s really quite simple. All you will need is your vacuum’s manual, your Crucial Vacuum Washable Filter, a garbage can, and water.
- First things first: refer to your manual to see how to detach your vacuum’s filter and then remove it.
- Next you will want to try to remove most of the excess dust from the filter. Tapping the filter on a garbage can will do. It is best to do this outside so you aren’t creating a mess to clean up indoors.
- Now you need to carefully rinse the filter. Hold the filter under running water to rinse the outside surface. It’s not necessary to scrub the filter between the pleats or to use brushes or other materials. In fact, using more than running water could damage the filter.
- Allow your filter to air dry around 24-48 hours before replacing it in your vacuum. With proper cleaning and care our filters can last up to 6 months.

Voila! That’s it. How simple is that? Think of all the money you will save on filters, and even better, think of how clean your house will be now. You’re welcome!
