There’s No Place Like Home: Consider Your Home’s Indoor Air Quality This Winter

Let’s face it, summer is long gone, fall is whizzing by, and winter is just around the corner. Winter means colder temperatures, shorter days, family time, and holidays. It’s not all bad!

The delicious aromas of holiday dinners fill the air as families gather to spend time together indoors. But that’s not all that’s in the air. If you haven’t changed your vacuum’s filter lately, there may be hundreds of harmful allergens and pollutants floating around in your house.

Did you know that the air in your own home could be affecting your overall health? Your home is supposed to be your safe place. But if you and your loved ones aren’t breathing clean air, your safe place can make you sick.

Maintaining good clean air indoors is crucial, especially during the winter when windows are closed and almost all of your time is spent indoors. Even if you vacuum regularly, you could still be surrounded by dust and other allergens in your home.

Vacuum filters are made to trap dust, mold, pollen, and other indoor air pollutants. If you or your loved ones have allergies or asthma, those pollutants can make those conditions even worse.

If the filter on your vacuum is old, than vacuuming does nothing more than throw the dirt and dust back into the air that you breathe. That light dust that you see on your blinds when you open your windows? It’s just dust that has escaped your vacuum. You can try vacuuming again but until you replace your filter you will just keep recycling that dust. It’s a never-ending cycle!

But Crucial Vacuum has good news! All you have to do is replace your vacuum’s filter. The filter does it’s job (traps dust and allergens) and you can get back to staying warm and enjoying your time at home while breathing clean safe air. Honestly, it’s that easy .

Need another reason to replace your filter? Consider this: As your vacuum’s filter becomes dirty, it becomes harder for the vacuum to pull air through which causes the unit to wear out faster. Replacing your filter is an inexpensive and easy way to ensure clean air and keep your vacuum running right.

Compare the price of a replacement filter to the cost of having your vacuum serviced or replaced due to wear and tear and you will see that replacing your filter is the way to go. Whether your vacuum is a Dyson, Hoover, Eureka, Dirt Devil, Bissell, or other top brands, we have the filters you need. Your vacuum and your lungs will thank you for it!

Simple Vacuum Fixes

Is your vacuum failing to live up to your standards? Perhaps your vacuum just isn’t picking up like it used to, leaving behind pet hair, fuzz, or other debris. Is there a strange smell coming from your vacuum? Or maybe your vacuum has lost some suction and just isn’t the same as it used to be. Rest assured; you are not alone, and you do not have to live this way! So many people experience one or both of these common issues with their vacuum and immediately draw the conclusion that they need a new vacuum. But we have good news! Crucial Vacuum is stocked with the things you need to get you’re your vacuum up and running like new again. So, before you toss your trusty old vacuum aside on your way to replace it, try these quick and simple fixes that may have your vacuum back to it’s old self in no time.

Vacuum Not Picking Up Like it Used to?

If your vacuum isn’t picking up like it used to check to see if the brush bar roller is turning. If it’s not, the solution could be as simple as removing wads of tangled hair or carpet string from the area. If that isn’t the problem a quick replacement of the belt could also do the trick.

Loss of Suction?

If you are experiencing loss of suction, check first to make sure that the bag is not full. So many people forget to change the bag and wonder why their sweeper won’t suck anything else up. If your bag isn’t full try checking to make sure the hose is clear. If the bag isn’t full and the hose is clear you should check the filters.

Strange Smells?

If you notice a strange or bad smell coming from your vacuum cleaner, there are a couple of easy fixes that may help. If it smells like rubber, you may have snapped the vacuum cleaner’s belt. But if it just plain stinks, chances are you need to change your filter. Filters can be found on both bagged and bagless vacuums. Vacuums with filters are great for trapping dust and other allergens in the home and make for cleaner air, which equals less tissues and sneezing. But these filters can become clogged and full over time making them less efficient. As a general rule, filters last considerably longer than bags. Therefore you won’t have to change them as often as you change your bag. But you should pay close attention to the filter to be sure it doesn’t need changed and isn’t clogged so that it can do its job.

So before you toss your vacuum, try these simple quick fixes first. With a little attention and routine maintenance there is probably still plenty of life left in your vacuum.

Crucial-Closure: Hoover Y HEPA Vacuum Bags

Ladies and Gentelmen I am pleased to present to you our newest product and first time manufacturing of the Crucial-Closure HEPA vacuum bags! You might be asking yourself “self, what exactly is a Crucial-Closure HEPA vacuum bag??!” Let me explain: These vacuum bags have a one of a kind closure that seals around the bag opening to keep the lighter dust particles from escaping the bag when removing it from your vacuum.

The HEPA bags fit your Hoover vacuum and are style Y. These bags are absolutely essential for all allergy sufferers. If you check out your older vacuum bags you will begin to notice that the lighter dust typically escapes the vacuum bags and recycles back into your air, forcing your allergies to start-up as well as making you work harder to clean.

Crucial-Closure HEPA vacuum bags provides 99.7% filtration through the bag alone and will trap microscopic particles and allergens. The Filtration Efficiency of these bags being almost 100% compared to as low as only 20% in standard bags, will allow you to notice a great amount of reduction in dust and pollen inside your home.

We at Crucial Vacuum designed Crucial-Closure with a cloth material, not paper, because as we all know, paper is more porous -allowing the dust to escape. This cloth bag allows for better efficiency and traps more dust. These bags simply keep the dust and dirt trapped inside the bag when it is changed – end of story!

If you have asthma, suffer from allergies or would simply like a cleaner home, then please buy Crucial-Closure. We want YOU to be happy and healthy – join us in this revolution. Crucial-Closure comes in two different flavors: packs of 3 or packs of 9. Click HERE to see what other goodies we are offering.

What is a Filter AND Why do I need to Change it?

When most of us think about vacuuming, we think about picking up the dirt on the ground and that’s basically it. There really is a lot more to a vacuum that most of us don’t realize.

All vacuum cleaners have filters and most of them on the market today are depth filters – they draw and capture particles inside the filter. Over time, the filter becomes clogged, which will reduce the airflow through the filter and can compromise its performance. Fine particles that reach the motor can cause overheating and wearing down of the vacuum’s mechanical parts through dirt and dust buildup.

So here you can see how important it is to change your vacuum filter on a regular basis – If they’re not changed, the filter can stir and spread dust and dirt throughout your home. If you or someone else in your home has allergies, you may want to pay close attention to how often you change your filters – and of course I’m going to recommend that you should vacuum on a regular basis to keep the dust to a minimum.
