National Puppy Day Cleaning Tips for Your Home

It’s National Puppy Day! What’s not to like about a cute little puppy? I mean sure whenever you bring a new dog into the house there may be a few accidents while they’re being housebroken, but that short period of time is replaced by countless years of cute cuddly affection. I mean just look at this little guy to the right:

I know right? Awww.

In honor of National Puppy Day we here at Crucial Vacuum are providing you with cleaning tips for dealing with pet hair around your home. So get prepared for a lot of cute photos of puppies as well as some handy tips to use around your household to keep these furry litter critters and their fur from taking over.

Comfy Blankets

Does your pet have a favorite spot in your home? Whether it’s a certain spot on the couch, smack dab in the middle of the floor where you can trip over them, or in your bed their favorite spot is going to be where you’ll find the most pet hair.

Cover these areas with blankets, or even area rugs. The more pet hair you allow to get on washing machine friendly surfaces the less work and strain for your vacuum as well as less time cleaning the area. Plus, giving your pet a soft place to lie on is a must. The comfier the better. Spoil them rotten if you ask me.

Simple Solution – Adhesive Rollers

You know the ones I’m talking about. Just about every person who owns a pet that sheds has owned one of these at some point or another and if you haven’t well then you’re missing out. These adhesive rolls, which can be found at just about any household store, work wonders by removing pet hair from your clothes, furniture and anywhere else you may find the pesky mess. They’re affordable and are perfect for on the go quick cleanups. Continue reading »

Animal & Baby Safe Homemade Cleaning Products

I treat my dog like a newborn baby, so I am always conscious about the cleaning products I use around the house.

Mrs. Meyer’s All Purpose Cleaner was one that I love because it is all natural, and baby and animal safe. However consistently purchasing specialty products, although worth it to keep my loved one safe, was like an itch that kept coming back. I could deal with it but after reading the label on the cleaning products, it seemed like products I could find at my local grocery store. After testing and mixing different solutions, I found mixtures to clean almost every surface of my house and keep it safe for my dog to roam everywhere she wants.

Most of the ingredients include baking soda, and vinegar. I’m sure this isn’t the first time you’ve heard about these two ingredient, but I honestly can’t begin to rave about how safe and effective they are. Both ingredients have antibacterials  properties that allow them to clean many areas.

Cleaning Pet Hair

I love my pets! I have two that are the sweetest, kindest, and most adorable little balls of fur. As much as I love playing with them, petting them, and having them part of my life, I hate the hair. It’s everywhere! I find pet hair on my carpets, furniture, and clothes. I’ve tried those lint rollers to pull clean the hard-to-get pet hair off my clothes and furniture, but it doesn’t do much.

Dander is sticky and helps fur stick to places we don’t want it. The more your pet cleans himself, the stickier the hair. Cats are exceptionally clean and their hair doesn’t budge unless it’s sticking to freshly laundered clothes. But there is a solution to cleaning up after little balls of fur. The Gonzo Pet Hair Lifter works for both cats and dogs! Even better, it is reusable and easy. Continue reading »

Our Beloved Pets and the Mess They Leave Behind

Pets are so much more than just four legged creatures who take up space. For many of us, are pets are our family. Some people even think of little Fido or Fluffy as their children, and like our children they love to keep us on our toes.

From knocking over plants, to dragging things in from outside, to tracking in mud, our mischievous pets could single handedly keep the vacuum industry afloat. But one of the biggest problems caused by our lovable little friends is something they have no control over; they shed!

Unless you are a proud owner of one of the few breeds of dogs who don’t shed, or you have one of those hairless cats, you have undoubtedly battled pet hair issues. Sometimes it doesn’t matter how many times you vacuum your carpet and furniture, those fine little hairs just won’t come up.
